I didn’t design the ad, but I did design the logo for Pro Auto Sales & Service at the bottom of this ad. Be sure to check them out if you’re in the area!

Latest project

September 23, 2011

I have had the pleasure of doing some design and website work for “Earn Your Way Fundraising, LLC“. I met the owner, Jeannette, through my kids’ daycare and we hit it off. She and her mom, who owns a chocolate shoppe in Burlington, helped out my efforts to raise money for my book, and, in turn, I have taken on creating Jeannette’s logo and overall look.

Please visit www.eywf.net and check out the new website and logo!

mADDoodle website is up

September 2, 2011

There is lots of work to be done on it, but the mADDoodle website (maddoodle.com) is up and running. You can see the one journal I have published and available for sale, as well as the design for the next journal that isn’t published yet.

Also be sure to catch this article that I found on CNN today about doodles! http://www.cnn.com/2011/09/01/opinion/brown-creativity-doodles/

My current project… Burlington County Sasquatch – by Dean Turner

August 12, 2011

I have been given the privilege of helping author, Dean Turner, from New Jersey to format his book for print, as well as help with his website and e-book. While the projects are still in the works, you can soon find more information about the book and Mr. Turner on his website: www.burlingtoncountysasquatch.com -or- www.sasquatchbook.com.

In the meantime… here is some information about the book:

1.  It remains true to the findings of famous sasquatch researchers like author and editor Daniel Perez, national television personalities Dr. John Bindernagel and Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, and Canadian publisher and author John Green

2.  It takes you inside the mind of one of the animals as it observes, and then inter- reacts, with a human.

3.  It repeats a very scary sasquatch tale by a U.S. President.

4.  It contains 23 full color illustrations by internationally known illustrators Paul Smith (Wisconsin), Brian Cundle (Ontario, Canada), Kainan Jordan (Oregon), and Jesse D’Angelo (New York).

5.  The animal does not like humans and uses scare tactics to chase them away, so the book necessarily becomes frightening at times.

6.  The story of sasquatch in North America suffers because, as with the wolverine, no animal remains have ever been recovered in the wild.  For that reason, any book about sasquatch must be occupied with credibility and accuracy.  This book achieves both those aims.

7.  The book is unique because it outlines eight encounters with the animal since 1980 in Burlington County, New Jersey.  That locale is unexpected compared to better known sasquatch locations such as California and British Columbia.

8.  The book goes beyond reporting sasquatch facts into the realm of criticism.  Sasquatch researchers, the process of taxonomy, and loggers all come under fire.

9.  The book contains 26 footnotes and 13 listings in its bibliography.

10.  The author, Dean Turner, is a retired technical writer and auditor whose attention to detail comes through.

mad ingenuity takes over kellymaddern.com

July 11, 2011

In an effort to focus more and more of my work on freelance, I’ve reshaped the website with what I think is a clearer idea of the services I can offer you or your business. If you have any questions about any of the services, please drop me an email and I will get back to you quickly. Your question may end up in an FAQ on the site to help others too.

Thanks for visiting! Kelly Maddern

PS. Be sure to visit some of my other websites. I am currently in the process of putting together a book, Badger State of Mind.

Badger State of Mind Kickstarter campaign!

June 1, 2011

I wanted to mention that I am planning to set up a sister site to the book website (badgerstateofmind.com) that will be strictly for Wisconsin advertisers and the small town tourism. Those details are to come.

By receiving your funding, the potential of this project is branching out into many avenues that I hope will help our tourism and small business.

First. The book – Badger State of Mind, which I hope will show people why they should visit or use some of the many small businesses around the state.

Second. The stock photography site – WisconsinStockPhoto.com is a stock photography site that will continue to grow after my journeys around the state in the process of creating the book. I want my detailed descriptions of the photos I gather to help serve as a guide for those just window shopping for pictures. Many of the scenes are so breathtaking that I can’t imagine someone being able to resist scheduling a vacation.

Third. The advertising website – Those who support the aforementioned projects or believe in what Wisconsin has within its borders will have this space to display their business, website, cause or hobby to other Wisconsinites, tourists or those looking to relocate.

My aspirations start with the book, and if I follow my dream of photography and writing, I will continue to publish materials about this wonderful state. Perhaps it will be a yearly guide with updated advertising?! Regardless, all of your support has allowed me to keep up my momentum and continue to work hard towards my goal.

Thank you! ~ Kelly

PS… Just a reminder of the new campaign site. I would LOVE to see you come back and repledge at http://kck.st/k0ErkG Thanks again!
